This high quality publication will trace THE MAJOR EVENTS in the evolution of this west island community from the opening of the first church register in 1703 until the NEW MILLENIUM.

The book features the following:
An introduction to the first discoverors and the fur traders such as Leber, St-Germain, Lemoyne and Guillet who prospered here despite all sorts of obstacles.

A synnopsis of the first religious establishments in the 18th century, notably those of René-Charles de Breslay, who was responsible for the community's name « Sainte-Anne du bout de l'île », and the parish rebirth under the pastor Georges Chèvrefils, in the 19th century.

A portrait of the first families established here with marriage records, anectodes etc

A description of Sainte Anne's important maritime role with its canal and ferry services of yesteryear and its place as one of the most prestigious resorts of the 19th century - Prime Minister John Abbott, the great financiers Forget, Morgan, Clouston established magnificent residences here on the shores of Lake of Two Mountains.

The parish of Sainte Anne is also known for one of the most avant garde industrial projects of its era (The Garden City Press) initiated by James John Harpell, for its archeological site (Fort Senneville), one of the most important ones of the west island, for the creation of the John-Abbott campus of McGill University and for its Veterans Hospital that treats soldiers that have taken part in world conflicts in which Canada has participated.
Created as part of the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the parish of St Anne de Bellevue, this work was initiated a year ago by the Historical Album Committee.  This volunteer group of  7 citizens of  Sainte Anne/Senneville, wanted to offer to their fellow citizens a testament to this community that, from the beginning of the story of the island of Montreal, has played a significant role.
In addition to a popular edition of 1000 albums (fixed price of  $35.00 per unit), the committee is also offering a prestigious Deluxe edition (numbered from 1 to 150) - a collectors' must, it will undoubtedly increase in value as time goes by! (fixed price of $100 per unit).

The text is written by Michel Bélisle, a historian and ethnologist well known in the region (among his notable works is a historical album on Isle Perrot «La Grosse île à l'ouest», as well as several publications on Vaudreuil-Dorion, the Trestler house etc.). With the colaboration of the citizens of Sainte Anne de Bellevue, this work features the famillies of the actual residents, the descendants of  the pioneers of Sainte Anne.
Visually stunning thanks to the layouts created by Phaneuf Design Graphique, the album features close to 600 images including several maps, illustrations, ancient documents and old photographs. The book contains 192 pages on glaced white paper, 16 of them in color within a hardbook cover!
